Dear anyone who cares enough to read this,
Yup. That's all I've really been this last part of the summer. A lump. And it's REALLY starting to get to me.

It takes a lot to make me feel like a slug in January...and I feel like a slug in January.

Lucky thing I head back down to Los Angeles this Thursday to move back in. Thank god for the brain-melting work I'll have ahead of me for the next two and a half months. Honestly...I'd much rather have a melted brain than a rotten one.

It'll be nice to see my rad posse again and get to chill for a couple of days before classes actually start. We start the 24th...and before you check your calendars...yes, that IS in fact a Thursday.

Why the hell we even BOTHER to start fall quarters on a THURSDAY...I will never understand.

But anyway, summer definitely wasn't a total wash. I got to spend the first two weeks of it with this sweet and wonderful guy -->

. Those were an AWESOME two weeks.

We did some big stuff, like trying to see Washington D.C. in one day (not a recommendation I would make, but it was still fun

) and we did some little stuff, too, like going to see UP and going to the dollar store and Wal-Mart probably a gergillion times.

We also watched a bunch of other movies. I HIGHLY recommend Zack and Miri Make a Porno (it's way more adorable and hilarious than it sounds) and that square root of three poem in the second Harold and Kumar movie...seriously made me cry.

But the best part, of course, was getting to see Ben.

Just sitting and watching all these flickering fireflies on the front porch with him was probably the most peaceful thing I've ever done. If you've never seen them before (and I hadn't), just try to imagine if a snowflake and a star had a lovechild. That lovechild would be a firefly. If you HAVE seen them before, you'll actually be able to understand what the hell I'm babbling about. Freaking MAGICAL.

It really was a perfect way to kick off vacation. I miss you like crazy, babe...but you already knew that.

And speaking of missing people like crazy, I also (thankfully) got to spend a bunch of time with my sister-from-another-mother-->

before she got shipped off to boot camp for the U.S. Navy on September 9th. That was a little tough for me once she left, but I know she's kicking some serious ass over there in Illinois. YOU GO, GIRL!

I also got to see some other awesome people, like

,who i haven't seen in OVER A YEAR!

Why? Because I'm lame.

But, that Mongolian barbecue...was AMAZING.

Oh yeah. I also tried to find a job for the summer...you know...to AVOID being a lump. You can probably guess how well THAT went.

But hey, god knows I gave it my best shot. Those guys at Subway just don't know what they're missing out on.

But yeah, just a "quick" update. So, how the hell are YOU guys doing? I haven't talked to anyone on here in a WHILE. Let me know how things are going for you, too. I'm a good listener.

Love you guys and hope all is well in your worlds.

Peace out y'all,
Jo
P.S. I'm thinking about posting SOME pictures of the trip to see Ben, but I'll have to figure out specifically which ones. I have some definitely in mind, but there are SO MANY. So, just bear with me.
